Awarded to a full-time student entering his/her freshman year in an accredited U.S. college/university, this scholarship is not limited to a particular curriculum. Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship applications are now available. 500 four-year awards will be given, ranging from $1000 to $15000 per year. Eligible students will be seniors with financial needs, demonstrated leadership, and scholarships or academic achievement. The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients “regardless of nationality” with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. Applicants must graduate from a high school located in the United States. Eligible high schools include public, private, charter, magnet, and STEM schools. Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2023 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000. Scholarships provide up to $7,500 per semester. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Recipients graduating college while in the Hagan Scholarship Program can apply for a Hagan Graduate Scholarship good for up to four additional semesters in college. The Live Más Scholarship Program is open only to individuals who meet all of the following criteria:

Stanley Black & Decker has established the DEWALT Trades Scholarship to assist individuals attending a two-year college or vocational-technical school who are pursuing a trade degree/certificate in an industry aligned with the Stanley Black & Decker Trade Goals – including but are not limited to Construction, Industrial, Motor/Power Sector, Mechanics, and Technology.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants of the DEWALT Trades Scholarship award must:

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Stanley Black & Decker. Payments are made in early August.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

• Trade essay

• Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities

• Work experience

• Statement of educational and career goals and objectives

• Unusual personal or family circumstances

• Consideration of academic record

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

Academic evaluation will include a review of the grade/mark average based on the grading system used in the applicant’s country and a review of the results of academic examinations.

Assuming there are qualified applicants, preference will be given to those who self-identify as American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, indigenous people of Canada, and/or be an individual with a disability, and/or self-identify as LGBTQIA+.

• Those eligible to apply are high school seniors, college freshman, sophomores and juniors who are either:

  • Children or spouses of full-time employees of companies that are members of TGCSA.  The employee must have been employed for at least two years as of January 1 of the year in which scholarships are awarded.

  • Part-time employees of companies that are members of TGCSA. The student must have been employed for at least six months as of January 1 of the year in which scholarships are awarded.

• Two types of TGEF Scholarships are awarded.

  • One-year awards ranging from $500 to $1,800 for graduating high school seniors and college students who are children of full-time employees or part-time student employees. 

  • There are also a number of special one and four-year scholarships of varying amounts that are awarded. Winners of one-year awards may reapply each year if they continue to be employed by firms that are members of TGCSA.

Candidates for this award shall be direct descendants of veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during eligibility dates for membership in The American Legion: April 6, 1917, to November 11, 1918; and any time after December 7, 1941. Open to Seniors who are planning on majoring in education; there are four different scholarship opportunities available on this website, one for sons or daughters of TEA members, one for minority students interested in education, one for FTA members, and one as a general scholarship for students interested in education. The Horatio Alger Association will award up to 600 scholarships to high school juniors . Scholarships can be up to $25,000. Recipients will also receive personalized financial aid counseling, college selections advisement and other support services.

• Eligibility:

  Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States; Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution); Demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required); Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities; Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity; Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, and; be a United States citizen

Open to Seniors, Four $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to students attending a trade/technical/2 year or 4 year college. Students must be affiliated with the manufactured housing industry including those who live in a manufactured or modular home, work in the manufactured or Modular Housing Industry, or have a relative who works in the manufactured or modular home industry. Offers 200 scholarships for civilian employees of the federal government and postal workers; scholarships are from $1,000 to $5,000; students must have a 3.0 GPA; applications are available from January to March each year.  Apply at www.feea.org

Open to senior girls graduating from a Tri-Cities area school; must be attending a 4-year local university (King, ETSU, Milligan, Tusculum, Kingsport Higher Education Center); have demonstrated outstanding extracurricular involvement and volunteer commitment to the community; have 3.0 GPA or higher. A one-time scholarship of $2,000 will be awarded at the JLJC end-of-year dinner meeting. Applications are available at here.

Eligibility Requirements

Female high school senior or graduate; Applicants must submit applications before graduating from high school or receiving a GED.

Enrolled or enrolling in a college or university in any of the following Southern states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

Enrolled or enrolling in an accredited higher education institution

Minimum GPA requirements: cumulative: 2.5 and major: 3.0 (must be maintained)

Full-time or part-time (at least 6 hours per semester) enrollment in at least 2 consecutive academic terms.

Degree being pursued in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or Automotive Field. Interest in considering or already pursuing a career in an automotive-related field.

Open to seniors who are members of United Southeast Federal Credit Union (can join at time of entry); Five $1,000 one-time scholarships will be awarded; Selection is based on financial need, GPA of 2.5 or higher, and service to community, school, and church. • Open to seniors who complete a 500 word essay on "What Home Ownership Means to Me;" Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. There will be no more than one winner from any high school. Winners will be asked to notify the Bristol TN/VA Association of REALTORS about their High Schools Award Day to receive their scholarship certificate only. In 2017, King Law started the King Law Gives Back Scholarship Program, awarding $1,000 scholarships annually to seniors in North Carolina, Upstate South Carolina, and Eastern Tennessee. This year, we'll select three seniors for $1,000 scholarships, aiming to invest in the local community and support academic goals while recognizing leadership qualities.

Applicants are required to submit an essay to our team and recipients are selected based on their college plans, career goals, and creative writing.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Plan to enroll at an accredited post-secondary education institution during the academic year following high school graduation, Fall 2025.

Open to Seniors pursuing careers in the skilled trades such as construction, plumbing, mechanical or electrical engineering. The applicant will be considered based on financial need, how the scholarship will impact the student (essay), recommendation from a teacher or staff member. • Open to Seniors planning to enter a four-year accredited college or university. Students complete an autobiography and write a 1,200-1,500 word essay that answers the following questions:

  • How has Alzheimer's disease changed or impacted your life?

  • What have you learned about yourself, your family and/or your community in the face of coping with Alzheimer's disease?

  AFA will award a $5,000 scholarship to the grand prize winner, a $2,500 award to first runner-up, and $1,500 to second runner-up. For information and an application visit www.afateens.org.

Open to seniors who have participated in the Appalachian Fair within the last two years. Students must have a 2.5 GPA or higher, provide three letters of reference, and write a short essay. Two $1,000 awards will be given. Applications are available in the counseling office.

The TN Hospitality Foundation began its scholarship program to recognize students who are furthering their education in the hospitality and tourism industry and who are excelling in study, work, and related school activities. THEF's mission is to equip the next generation of hospitality and tourism professionals with the skills they need to succeed in the industry. Student must have a 2.7 GPA or higher and worked or currently working in the Hospitality and tourism industry. There are three scholarships awarded in the amounts of $5,000, $3,000 and $2,500.

• AMVETS offers two different scholarship programs open to seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. They must have been a child or grandchild of a veteran, demonstrating academic promise & financial need. Winners must agree to allow AMVETS to publicize winning information. A $1,000 renewable award will be given for each scholarship.

Seniors that are interested in majoring in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related science life field and will be 18 years old by August 10th, 2022 are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Open to globally-minded seniors enrolling in a four-year public college or university within the State of TN's Board of Regents or University of TN systems. Students should have demonstrated academic merit, personal &/or career interests in multi-cultural and international affairs, an apptitude for foreign language study, and involvlement in community & leadership roles.
