Coordinated School Health connects physical, emotional, and social health with education through a coordinated approach designed to improve children's health and their capacity to learn. The goal of the program is to eliminate health-related barriers to learning so that teachers can teach and students can learn. Efforts to meet this goal are conducted through an eight-component model. Each of the eight components addresses a particular aspect of the coordinated approach. The components are:
