Dear Families,

I would like to introduce myself to those of you who do not know me. My name is John Wesley McKinney (J.W. for short), I grew up in Washington County in Telford/Oakland. I attended South Central, Jonesborough, and Sulphur Springs as an elementary student. I am a graduate of Daniel Boone High School, class of 1990.  My wife Twana, currently teaches at David Crocket High School and my daughter Darcy will be attending South Central this school year in 3rd grade.

I am very excited to be returning to South Central as Principal. I believe South Central is the best school in WC. I am looking forward to working with the students and families of the community. I am an advocate of the concept that there is no greater investment than in the education of our children.

I have a B.S., M.Ed., and a School Leadership Certificate from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. This is my 21st year in education. I have had various positions over those 21 years: 8-12 grades Science and Math teacher, 6-8 grades P.E. teacher, College Coach and Adjunct College teacher, High School Coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal
