PreK Registration Guide: Everything Parents Need to Know

When and Where to Register
Mark your calendar! Registration events will be held on March 6th and May 6th at all K-8 county schools. You can stop by either 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM or 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Just head to your home school zone. Not sure which school is yours? Give our friendly Student Support team a call at 423-753-1112.

Already in PreK?
If your child is currently enrolled and you'd like them to continue next year, there's good news - you won't need to go through the full registration process again. You'll just need to fill out the Universal PreK Application. Your child's teacher will send this home, or if you prefer, you can complete it online using a QR code (included in the folder provided by your student’s teacher).

Program Availability
While we're working to expand our programs, we may not have PreK in every single school for the 2025-26 year. But don't let that discourage you! We're using registration information to figure out where programs are needed most, so your interest helps us plan. We welcome both 3- and 4-year-olds.

Schedule
For our 4-year-olds, the school day typically runs from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Our 3-year-old programs have more flexible scheduling. And here's some exciting news - we might be able to add even more programs for the 2025-26 school year!

Getting a Spot
We don't use a lottery system - spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, based on eligibility. If a program fills up, we'll start a waiting list. And here's something important to know: our programs are open to ALL families.
