JONESBOROUGH, TN — Kelly Wagner, Director of Coordinated School Health for Washington County Schools, has been selected as Tennessee's Coordinated School Health (CSH) Coordinator of the Year by the CSH Institute committee, distinguishing herself among eight regional finalists from across the state.

Wagner's innovative approach to student wellness has established Washington County Schools as a benchmark for health programs throughout Tennessee. Her leadership has created a comprehensive health framework that seamlessly integrates physical, emotional, and social well-being with academic excellence.

"Ms. Wagner brings people together to support student health in every way that matters," said Dr. Jacki Wolfe, Chief Student Supports Officer for Washington County Schools. "By connecting physical, emotional, and social well-being with education, she helps Tennessee students stay healthy and ready to learn."

Under Wagner's direction, Washington County Schools has developed a model program that other school systems strive to emulate. Her collaborative approach has fostered partnerships between educators, health professionals, and community organizations, creating a robust support system for student wellness.

The selection process evaluated coordinators from eight regions across Tennessee, with Wagner's exceptional contributions to student health and academic success setting her apart from other finalists. Her innovative programs and dedication to student well-being exemplify the highest standards of school health coordination.

The award was presented at the 2025 Coordinated School Health Institute in Nashville, TN on March 6, 2025, recognizing Wagner's outstanding leadership in advancing student health initiatives throughout Washington County Schools.
