The Tennessee Investment in Student Achievement (TISA) public school funding formula marks a significant change in how Tennessee invests in public education. The TISA funding formula updates the way Tennessee funds public education for the first time in over 30 years to empower each student to read proficiently by third grade, prepare each high school graduate for postsecondary success, and provide resources needed for all students to ensure they succeed.

Washington County School-Age Childcare(SACC) will be available for all students currently enrolled in Washington County Schools. Services will be offered at Jonesborough Elementary and Boones Creek Elementary on the following days: Friday, October 4, and Monday through Thursday, October 7-10, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided. To pre-register your child, please contact Hannah Woodward at 423-753-1100. To save time during sign-in, please pre-register your child if possible. However, walk-ins are welcome as long as space allows. Walk-ins will need to complete registration at drop-off before leaving their child.

ATTENTION: SCHOOL STATUS UPDATE – SCHOOLS CLOSED – WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 30, 2024 - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2024
Due to the ongoing disaster response efforts of the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene in our region, Washington County Schools will be CLOSED Monday, Sept. 30, through Friday, Oct. 4.
During the time schools are closed, we are committed to providing our students access to meals. A meal schedule with time and locations for pick up will be released by our school nutrition department soon.
In addition to the change in the status of schools for the upcoming week (9/30 - 10/4), the school calendar will be changed to reflect the following:
-Fall Break (continue as scheduled): Monday, October 7, 2024 - Friday, October 11, 2024.
-The regular school schedule will resume for all students and staff on MONDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2024. Note (this is a change in the 2024-2025 school calendar. The revised school calendar will be posted on the website soon.

1.) 🚍ROUTES & MY RIDE K-12 SYSTEM
Washington County Schools have streamlined bus routes for more efficient use of personnel and equipment by updating the school zones and routes for buses. Families will be able to view their student's assigned bus, approximate times of pick up/drop off, and live updates when the bus is in route by using the My Ride K-12 app and/or website! Parents/guardians must have their student's ID# to register. The system will be available beginning AUGUST 1st.

2.) 🚍 STUDENTS OUT OF ZONE
Families who live outside of their student's school zone and are on an enrollment contract must provide their own transportation to and from the school.

Students are NOT PERMITTED to ride a bus other than the one that is zoned for their residence. This includes but is not limited to, students riding home with other students, riding to different addresses throughout the week, etc.
